Cheers! The Pink Drink Is Here!

October is breast cancer awareness month and we’re happy to report that The Pink Fund’s Dancing with the Survivors gala events are in full swing at a number of venues across the nation.

Unique among breast cancer-related charities, The Pink Fund assists families financially devastated by the unexpected and budget crippling, non-medical costs of the typical breast cancer treatment. And  Dancing with the Survivors is The Pink Fund’s major annual fundraising event in which breast cancer survivors are paired up with dancers from Fred Astaire Dance Studios to perfect a ballroom dance routine that they then perform, on stage, in front of their family and friends. (If you want to learn more info on this great initiative, see our post about it here.)

Lending a heorange-beet-vodka-cocktail-2-copylping hand at these DWTS fundraising events this year are our good friends at Natalie’s Orchid Island Juice Company.  The juice wizards at Natalie’s have come up with a great cocktail recipe called The Pink Drink, which has become the signature cocktail for “Dancing with the Survivors.”

“The drink is pink to stay in keeping with the month’s color scheme,” says Natalie Sexton, Director of Marketing at Natalie’s.  “But we also want to raise awareness about the health benefits – some actually cancer preventing – of drinking orange-beet juice, a key ingredient in this special cocktail.”

Natalie’s has also graciously supplied cases of their orange-beet juice to each event and is donating up to 40% of orange-beet juice sales through October to The Pink Fund. And to top it off, each bottle of Natalie’s orange-beet juice is specially labelled to highlight information about The Pink Fund, with a memorable quote from survivors The Pink Fund has assisted.

Even if you can’t make it to a Dancing with the Survivor event, you can click here to get the recipe for the The Pink Drink and go here to find out more about The Pink Fund and how you can help.
