Chase Wyatt Blackburn is an American football linebacker for the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League. He was signed by the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent in 2005. Chase’s most memorable professional moment came in Super Bowl XLVI, when Blackburn recorded six tackles and a key interception in the fourth quarter with the Giants trailing the Patriots 17-15. New England never scored a point after that as the Giants went on to a 21-17 victory for their fourth Lombardi Trophy in franchise history.
While at Maracaibo, Chase was able to call attention to”Kick Cancer Overboard” – a charity that offers free cruises to cancer survivors. He also was featured in a “hero’s welcome” ceremony in which a street in Jersey City was named after him for his efforts in helping the Giants win Super Bowl XLVI. Chase has been featured Good Day New York and NJ.com.
