Wall Street Turns into “Ball Street” for Cancer Awareness
NEW YORK – A non-profit encourages men to take a couple minutes out of their day for something that can save their life.
CACTI, a Minneapolis-based testicular cancer awareness organization, handed out free meatballs and taught self-examination lessons with The Meatball Shop Monday.
CACTI stands for Center for Advocacy for Cancer of the Testes International. It was all in effort to encourage people to perform self-examinations for testicular cancer.
Organizers say that push is desperately needed, telling us a recent study found that only half of men actually do it.
“Early detection is everything. People have got to know that they can check themselves at home,” said Dr. Christopher Kelly.
April is Testicular Cancer Awareness Month.
